Rhythm is in all of us; it’s in our talk, in the way we walk, it’s in the season, and in time itself. Rhythm plays a vital role in everyone’s productivity. Drumming offers a unique approach to Teambuilding. Our drumming experiences are structured to allow your team to have a voice, experience co-operative accomplishments, discuss metaphors for teamwork and communication, and to generally have fun.
What is the activity?
A group of people sitting or standing in a circle playing drums and world percussion instruments. A professional facilitator leads the group from the centre of the circle, allowing the participants to relax and let go. Everyone is part of the performance; there is no audience. The emphasis is on working together effectively as a team to create music.

Dependant on group size, budget and timings and we can offer a combination or a choice of the following:
AFRICAN DRUMMING PERFORMANCE
We can provide the African Drum ensemble to entertain and create atmosphere for your conference. This is great when used in combination with the other elements of the interactive drumming events.
AFRICAN DRUMMING EVENT
We will lead your team through traditional African drumming rhythms and songs. Every delegate gets a real traditional drum to beat. Great fun with very powerful results particularly suited to Team Building. The group plays to one common beat.
DRUM CIRCLE / SAMBA EVENT
Using a variety of drums and percussion including bells, wood and shakers. The groups creates their own rhythms, but are guided through the process like an orchestra is guided by a conductor. A facilitated spontaneous music making session.
BOOMWHACKER SESSION
The group are handed percussion tubes of different colours and different sizes. Each colour makes a different tone. When played together they create a fantastic harmony of sound and rhythm. Very easy to hand out when logistics and timing are critical.
CONFERENCE ENERGISER – BODY PERCUSSION
Using the body as a percussion element, within 5 minutes our facilitator will have any size of group warmed up, energized and having fun using their bodies as an instrument. Clapping, stamping and vocal sounds create instantaneous music.
DRUM JINGLE
The teams have a great time creatively coming up with a 2 minute advert or skit. The event starts with 30 minutes of drum circle where the participants learn how to play the various percussion instruments including drums, bells, shakers & woods. After 30 minutes they are then set a task – to break off in teams into various areas and come up with a drum jingle of approximately 2 minutes long, using percussion instruments, voice and movement. After 20 minutes of preparation you then come back and perform your skit.
Where does the experience take place?
This event can be set up at any venue in the UK with further arrangements and
in London this event can take place at Embankment (subject to group size).

How long should I allow for this experience?
From 2 hours to a full day.
2 Hour Long Events: A room is set-up with a circle of chairs or concentric circles, depending on the number of participants. Every person is given a drum or a percussion instrument. A facilitator leads the group to experience their greatest potential as a team by using facilitation games, group leadership and orchestration skills.
Daylong Events: Participants are divided into teams. Each team is taught how to create a musical piece. Each team then uses their new skills to perform the piece in front of the other teams and developing leadership skills by teaching their musical piece to the other teams.
When does the activity take place?
All year round, Monday – Friday. During a lunch break. - at the beginning, middle or end of a conference - as part of a training meeting - during product launches.

What about the weather?
Unless this event has been arranged at an outside venue, the weather should not affect the event.
What else do I need to know?
Each workshop is customized according to your specific needs. The importance of your staff working as a team is highlighted throughout the session. All events are designed for the novice musician, even if you've never touched a drum before. Utilizing the two simple principles of an effective team - a common vision and effective communication - we build up an orchestra of music that engulfs the whole group in magic.
What are the minimum and maximum numbers?
The minimum group booking is 8 with the maximum unlimited for this event: we can work with groups of 8 – 500.
