If the last time you took part in a treasure hunt was the Easter before your 12th birthday, take it from us – they're just as much fun for grown-ups! (And ours still involves finding chocolate, albeit of the up-market, superior kind.)
You’ve got two hours to reach your destination. Race against the clock to solve a series of clues, with a riddle or task for each landmark on the map, along London’s South Bank, through the heart of the City and around Soho.
• The two hour Treasure Hunt begins at the Royal Festival Hall, where guests are greeted by a Master Chocolatier
• Teams receive their Treasure Hunt packs containing clues, riddles, maps, digital cameras and chocolate money – to be used to persuade or bribe members of the public; as a source of fuel or to be rationed out between team members!
• You’ll also have to promote someone to Team Leader – he or she has the final decision on the route and the answers, and you’ll need a Time Keeper to make sure you’re all on track
• Race against the clock to solve a series of clues along London’s South Bank, through the heart of the City and around Soho.
• You’ll take photographs, find hidden clues and answer riddles based on something that the team will be able to see at various landmarks
• We expect you to use your native wit for a series of challenges along the way - not least to get your photo taken with at least one policeman, a friendly traffic warden and, for bonus points, for one of the Queen’s guard!
• After pounding the pavements, relax with the Original Chocolate Making Workshop where everyone will create their own hand made chocolates • Indulge on a selection of canapés and buffet style nibbles served throughout the workshop
• The winning Treasure Hunt team receives a luxury good bag containing hand crafted chocolates and chocolate making essentials
The Original Chocolate Workshop This activity includes learning about the origins of chocolate and the process from bean to bar.
* You will learn how to make fudge, praline and truffles and have the chance to create your own flavoured truffle centres with spices and essential oils.
* Under a skilled chocolatier’s guidance you can become creative with cutting, dipping and decorating your chocolate which you can take home in a red ribbon tied box along with demonstrated recipes you have learnt during the day.
* You will be put into teams where you will be quizzed on your new chocolate knowledge with the chance to win coloured foils, texture and transfer sheets to help produce the most creative chocolate.
* The team with the most creative chocolate will win a small chocolatey Prize!
The event lasts approx. 4-5 hours (Treasure Hunt 2hrs, Original Chocolate Making Workshop 2.5-3hrs)
